Join Us!

The Catholic Archivist Group is open to Religious Institutes and Congregations, Dioceses and other Catholic institutions, their archivists and associates. We offer professional support and work to raise the profile of Catholic archives in Canada.

Membership runs from January 1 to December 31, coinciding with the calendar year and the Group’s fiscal year. Membership fees are due by January 31st of each year. Send completed membership forms to the Treasurer.

Membership Benefits

  • an annual conference
  • a mechanism for the exchange and distribution of information, including the professional care of archives, among members through our website, listserv, newsletters and other mailings
  • a forum where relevant issues impacting on the spiritual, cultural and social affairs of Catholic Archives can be addressed
  • opportunities for projects to be initiated, developed and implemented among members. The Catholic Archivist Group also offers opportunities to apply for grant programs

Membership Levels & Fees

Institutional Membership ($100)
Catholic Institutions engaged in and interested in the preservation of Catholic archival records are invited to join. Up to three members of the same institution can be included in this category, each of whom shall enjoy all membership benefits. All may vote in elections for the executive and at the AGM as well as be eligible to serve on committees and the executive.

Individual Membership ($50)
All individuals working in Catholic archives are invited to join and will enjoy all privileges of membership, including a vote in elections for the executive and at the AGM as well as be eligible to serve on committees and the executive.

Associate Membership ($25)
All institutions, corporations and individuals, including students and retired members, wishing to receive publications and to support the purpose of the Catholic Archivist Group are invited to join. Associate members do not have voting privileges nor are eligible to serve on committees and the executive.

Honorary Life membership
Honorary Life membership will be accorded by a majority vote at the AGM to individuals in recognition of their extraordinary service to Catholic archives. Honorary life members do not have voting privileges nor are eligible to serve on committees and the executive.
