Web of Influence: Archival Networks and Relationships

May 6th – 9th, 2024
Location: Collège La Cité, Ottawa

Register by February 29th

We are so pleased to invite you to the Nation’s Capital for the 2024 CAG Conference!

Ottawa is a beautiful city and never more so than during tulip season – which will be in full bloom during the conference.

The theme of this year’s conference is “WEB OF INFLUENCE: Archival Networks & Relationships”. We want to explore how Diocesan and Religious archives have a useful and positive impact on all aspects of our respective institutions, as well as in our relationships with external individuals and groups.

We will be gathering at Collège La Cité in Ottawa. Located 15 minutes from downtown, it offers several nearby access points to public transportation. Conveniently, you can find a series of useful services (bank, grocery, mall, and more) within walking distance. The campus includes both university dorm accommodations and spaces to meet.

Why should you attend?

We have lined up a group of great speakers to share about their archival work and institutions! Debra Majer (Archivist, Diocese of London), Veronica Stienburg (Archivist, Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, Kingston), Rodney Carter (Archivist, RHSJ St. Joseph Region, Kingston), Fr. Stéphane Sarazin (Chancellor, Roman Catholic Military Ordinariate of Canada), Bruce Henry (Archivist, Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops), and Christina Ronzio (Director, CCCB National Liturgy Office) will share about their projects and institutions. We will also be getting a tour of and celebrating Mass at the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall’s historic Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, originally built in 1846 and restored in 1999.

The conference will also provide a fantastic opportunity to once again network following our last in-person conference in Calgary in 2022. Beyond the conference, there are so many things to do and see in Ottawa, including many national monuments, galleries and museums. Additionally, for those interested in the Annual National March for Life, this will take place the afternoon of Thursday, May 9th (after the conclusion of our conference).

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Conference Planning Team. We are so looking forward to seeing you in Ottawa this May.

and the CAG 2024 conference planning team
